The Implementation of Industry 4.0 in buyer-supplier relationships

PhD Supervisor: Prof. Dr. oec. Julia Arlinghaus

Markus Burger, in cooperation with Siemens and RWTH Aachen University, is investigating how the implementation of Industrie 4.0 at the buyer-supplier interface affects, in particular, the collaboration between companies, business models and underlying risks. The focus is on a consideration of different digital maturity levels of suppliers and buyers. Through his work on an E2E-resilience approach in the context of a digital twin of the Siemens supply chain, he incorporates insights from practical risk management into his research.
