Within Industry 4.0, the digital twin and its various forms play a decisive role. In addition to the visualisation of production plants as a 3D image, the digital twin also stands for the continuous recording and evaluation of data. This data can be used for predictive quality and predictive maintenance evaluations. The heterogeneity of the data poses a particular problem in implementation. With the Asset Administration Shell, data is to be made accessible on the shop floor in a standardised way.
