Factory Automation

The Center Distributed Systems executes fundamental and appliance research as well as research on demand in the field of factory automation. It aims at development, implementation and improvement of innovative methods and technologies for structuring and implementation of automation systems within the industrial practice of manufacturing industry.

The center consists of an interdisciplinary team of researchers with a wide range of experience in the fields of automation technology, industrial communication technology, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and information technology. 

In the context of our research and development projects we are improving the current state of technology goal-oriented and improve the profitability and efficiency of our partner companies. Together with your management team we develop and implement advanced engineering processes and automation solutions.

The Center Distributed Systems focuses on the areas of the applicability of mechatronic units within the engineering process of factory automation systems, evaluation of engineering tools with regard to their efficient use, development of data formats for exchanging engineering data between engineering tools, the model based engineering processes for control and communication systems, the agent and function block oriented control architecture, methods of control implementation and methods of development and implementation of Ethernet based industrial communication systems.

The basement for our successful projects are acquainted experiences over many years in European and international projects regarding the solution of automation and communication technology problems.
